Signed up for a Race

I signed up for my first race, the Joe Kleinerman 10k, which is essentially the big loop in Central Park. I'm stoked to be representing NBR in a club points race, even if my time doesn't score for us.

We did a five mile out and back club run from McCarren along Kent to the BQE and back last night. It was a tempo run for me, chasing the fast pack who were well within their conversational pace. I felt great (well, okay, I was a little raggedy at the end), and am hoping that if I can stay healthy and train well that I can hit 43:30 for the 10k, or a 7 minute mile average.

My left ankle and tendons feel great in every way today, and it looks like I'll have another healthy 40 mile week. I'm going to hold that pattern for another couple of weeks and evaluate my body before increasing the mileage on my long run.

See you on the road.
