I write here mostly so I can have a training log, and look back at how I've felt at different times in my training. I'm feeling good right now, but my left ankle twinges moved to the top of my foot last week. I started a week of Naproxen, which seems to be doing the trick (with what I assume was tendon swelling causing tenderness). Dr. E told me that the stuff has to be in my system for a week to buildup for the anti-inflammatory part of the drug to work.
Last Saturday I did 6 on the Saturday bridge run, followed up with 12 to the Ridgewood Reservoir and back (using the Knickerbocker/Bushwick loop) on Sunday. Monday was a rest day, Tuesday was 7 with some speed work mixed in, Wednesday M. took us on an awesome bridge route that put me at 9.5 for the day. Thanksgiving was rest, yesterday was 7 with half of that hill repeats, today was the bridge.
Holding at 45 mile weeks with seems to be working for me right now. May 2nd seems way far away, until I realize I don't have a proper training plan in place yet, other than lots of vague ideas. Maybe it's time to get more serious about making a plan.
