I'm not going to call this "an easy 14". While I may have run the first half of it slowly, that didn't make it easy. Brooklyn College has a beautiful campus. The intact, stand-alone Victorian mansions on Bedford leading up to the college are amazing.
I didn't dog it on the first half of the run, but ran at an easy breathing pace. On the way back I progressively picked it up, and was pushing for the last four miles. I like this training run, the "fast finish long run". Spend some time on your feet getting tired, then try to run fast while you're tired. It's hard. Running a marathon is going to be hard, too, and I'd like to be trained up for it. Send me on my way.
As an aside, in Lefferts Gardens I ran past the offices of the doctor who prescribed me Mefloquine for malaria prevention. He should have his license revoked, and the makers of that drug should all be hung. Luckily my man T. had some extra Malerone in Uganda and so ended my psychotic episodes.
